Vitamin C deficiency

Scurvy is a disease that is caused by the body’s inability to produce collagen proteins.  The lack of collagen proteins is always caused by vitamin C deficiency.  Scurvy is not a severe disease and not as common as it was before. It can be easily prevented by including adequate or ample amount of vitamin C in the diet. Older people and infants should be especially taken care of, as they are the ones who are the most susceptible.
